Applications/Uses
As a reducing agent: Its primary role in pharmaceuticals is as a reducing agent in chemical syntheses. It is used in specific chemical reactions to reduce other compounds.
In chemical plating: Potassium hypophosphite is used in chemical plating processes, which is a different application from direct pharmaceutical use.
Historical use: In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, hypophosphites were used in dietary supplements and tonics, but this practice has mostly been discontinued due to a lack of evidence of benefit and concerns about efficacy.
Not a direct food additive: Potassium hypophosphite is not a food additive and is not used for its nutritional properties.
Limited uses: Its use is mainly for chemical reactions, and not for flavor or preservation as some other potassium compounds, like potassium sorbate, are used for.
Allergen Free, GMO Free, Irradiation Free
